Ser Franklyn Estermont is a scion knight of House Estermont. He serves as Castellan of Dragonstone and Admiral of the Narrow Sea to Lady Cassana Baratheon.
History[]
At a young age, Franklyn presented a talent for command. When he was eighteen, Ser Franklyn commanded a portion of forces in the Battle of the Gullet, during the War of the Exile, where although the Royal Fleet suffered great losses, including the deaths of both his father, Ser Howland, and Lord Cortnay Baratheon, the Master of Ships, he and some of the ships under his command managed to outrun the pursuing Volantenes and return safely to Dragonstone.
After his grandfather Ser Andrew's death, Franklyn was appointed to the position of Castellan by Lord Cressen and Lady Cassana. In his years of holding the position he has worked ably and loyally, taking charge of the holding when the Lord and Lady have been unable to. He also has juggled this role with that of Admiral of the Narrow Sea, and often takes the ships of the royal navy stationed at Dragonstone on training exercises in Blackwater Bay.
When Lady Cassana departed from Dragonstone to serve at the new King Alesander's side following the death of King Beric, it was Franklyn whom she entrusted care of the castle unto. In this time he worked closely with both Cressen and the young Duram Bar Emmon in keeping his leige's lands and fleets in good working order.
Recent Events[]
When Lady Cassana and her family departed for King's Landing for the Grand Tournament, Franklyn once again resumed total control of Dragonstone. When Cassana learnt of the threat of a Targaryen invasion, she kept him informed through letters of her findings. In return, he replied, voicing his concerns about the readiness of the royal fleet in the event of an invasion from the east.
